Nathan is going to be producing the Halloween Party for the second year and hopes to build on everything he knows from last year and from his last project at The Getty Center. From a designer background he is ready to tackle the design heavy production this year. Nathan is confident in the project and is glad to have such a good team with him.

Grant Dunn is a lighting and video designer currently studying at CalArts. Grant explores light in a variety of mediums including concert, dance, and themed environments. Grant is excited to bring his concepts to this collaborative process.
—————————————— Daphne Mir ——————————————
Daphne is delighted to have the opportunity to create an immersive, fascinating environment in which to tell the story of the nights’ apocalypse. As lighting designer, Daphne is excited to conglomerate theatrical, architectural, themed environment and concert styles to help this year’s interactive Halloween spectacle transcend boundaries. Daphne has just returned from six months studying abroad at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and will graduate this year from CalArts from the Lighting Design program.

Alex Navarro has been designing, styling and creating costumes for Theater, Dance, Film, Television and Celebrities for almost a decade. His most recent endeavor is MTV’s Video Music Awards on September 6th. Alex Navarro will be utilizing costumes to help create a world in which entertainment and reality blend into one, bringing the party goer into an indistinguishable universe to celebrate Halloween, as well as pay tribute to the great Mayan culture.

Scenic Coordinator/Technical Director
Sam has been working in creating events and theater for nearly a decade. As scenic coordinator, and co- technical director Sam’s role in Halloween 2012 was to transform the third floor of the CalArts main building into an immersive environment for guests to explore and observe while attending the party. We owe a big thanks to the Mayans for all the inspiration! Sam will graduate this year from the Technical Direction program at CalArts.

Evan Friedman is a third year BFA TD student and this is his second consecutive Halloween event at CalArts. He has also worked on “Timboctou” and CalArts Graduation 2012. He is very excited for this years Halloween party.

Associate Lighting Designer
Dan Norman is a BFA2 in the School of Theater at CalArts. Dan’s passion for lighting began in elementary school. Since then he has had the opportunity to work with the San Francisco Opera, California Shakespeare Theater, LA Stage Alliance, Diablo Valley College Theater, and several Bay Area and Los Angeles dance and theater companies. Dan is eagerly looking forward to the immensely diverse collaborative concepts being brought to life for Halloween this year.

Associate Lighting Designer
Nicholas Diaz is a BFA 3 lighting design student at CalArts. Nick’s passion for working with light comes in the form of themed and immersive environments. Outside of school he is currently a lighting designer for Six Flags Great America in Chicago IL. His recent designs include “Mausoleum of Terror” a walk through attraction, and “Necropolis” a themed area overlay. Nick is thrilled to be a part of Cyber Apocalypse and the extraordinary design team.

Skyler Brown is a BFA2 majoring in Experimental Animation at CalArts. Skyler has gained international recognition and professional acclaim for his expansive body of work that includes drawings, paintings, photography, filmmaking, animation, graphic design, fashion design, and music composition. Most recently, over a dozen of his pieces were on display in the 2012 California State Fair, claiming both Best of Show and Best of Class along with nine First Place awards. Skyler is very grateful for the opportunity to contribute designs for the Halloween Party and is eager to see how they translate into reality. Skyler’s Website

Adeline Newmann is an animator, video designer, and VJ. Adeline creates immersive environmental work, both for film and for performance. She graduated from CalArts with a BFA in Experimental Animation in 2012.
